"I WANT TO BECOME" STATEMENT
This is a written summary of who I want to become personally, professionally, and as an Honors student.
I want to become a clinical psychologist specializing in neuropsychology. My goal is to earn a PsyD and contribute to both research and clinical practice, helping individuals navigate mental health challenges. I want to continue gaining hands-on experience, present my research at conferences, and further develop my expertise in forensic and neuropsychology. I aim to advocate for mental health awareness and bridge the gap between psychology and the criminal justice system.
Every experience—changing my major, studying abroad, conducting research, and facing obstacles—has shaped the person I am today. I am committed to growth, lifelong learning, and making a meaningful impact in my field.

"I AM" STATEMENT
This is a written summary of who I am personally, professionally, and as an Honors student.
I am passionate about psychology and motivated by a desire to help others. My dedication to understanding human behavior has shaped my academic and professional path. I am responsible, always striving to find meaning in my work while bringing light into others' lives. I am driven to continuously expand my mindset, welcoming diverse perspectives to become a well-rounded, open-minded individual. I am a giver—when those around me thrive, I feel fulfilled.
Since leaving my family in Illinois, I have embraced new challenges and opportunities. I have completed my undergraduate studies with a strong academic record, joined a sorority where I built lifelong friendships, and studied abroad, gaining valuable cultural experiences. I have worked on campus as an academic mentor, peer academic advisor, and learning assistant, guiding peers in their academic journeys. I have also immersed myself in research, working in neuroscience and psychology labs, and earning recognition for my contributions, including the Top 100 Award.

Engagement Exercise
Throughout my time at IUI, I have actively sought opportunities that challenge me, foster personal and professional growth, and enhance my experience as an honors student. Three key experiences that have shaped my academic and leadership journey include studying abroad, holding a leadership position in my sorority, and gaining mentorship experience. Each of these experiences has contributed to my development as a student, leader, and future clinical psychologist.
